BMW Module Cloning, Programming & Repair Services
Velectronix provides professional mail-in BMW module cloning, programming, and repair services for engine control modules (DME / ECU), Car Access System (CAS) modules, immobilizer systems, and Footwell Modules (FRM). We help vehicle owners and repair shops replace failed electronic modules while preserving the vehicle-specific information required for proper operation.
Our services include transferring data from an original BMW module to a compatible customer-supplied replacement, repairing supported electronic faults, and performing immobilizer delete programming on specific DME types. Service availability depends on the module type, part number, and condition of the original unit.

Supported BMW Electronic Modules
We work with a range of BMW engine computers, immobilizer modules, and body electronics. The examples below are not a complete compatibility list.
- DME / Engine Control Modules: MS42, MS43, MS45, MSV70, MSV80, MSD80, MSD81, MSD85, MSD87, ME9.2, MEVD17, and other supported types.
- CAS / Car Access System: Supported CAS1, CAS2, CAS3, and CAS3+ cloning applications.
- EWS Immobilizer Systems: EWS3 module cloning and EWS delete programming for selected BMW DME families.
- Footwell Modules: FRM2 and FRM3 cloning, data recovery, and supported repair services.
- Additional Body Modules: REM Rear Electronic Module and supported KBM body / gateway modules.
Most cloning services require both your original module and a compatible replacement supplied by you. Exact part-number matching is required for many applications. Please check the individual service listing before shipping.
BMW DME Cloning vs. EWS Delete
DME cloning transfers the necessary vehicle-specific information from an original engine computer into a compatible replacement. This generally preserves the vehicle's existing immobilizer configuration and is preferred when the original DME remains readable.
EWS delete is a different service. It modifies supported DME software to disable immobilizer authorization. It may be useful for certain replacement or immobilizer-related situations, but it is not available for every BMW DME. Some applications may also require vehicle-side wiring changes or other installation steps.
For example, we offer BMW MSD80 / MSD81 / MSV80 DME cloning and a separate BMW MSD80 / MSD81 EWS delete service . Choosing the correct service depends on your DME type and the reason for replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to send both BMW modules for cloning?
Yes. Most cloning services require your original module and a compatible replacement module that you provide. Some repair and immobilizer delete services require only the module being serviced.
Does the replacement module need the same part number?
Many BMW cloning services require an exact part-number match. Some DME applications permit other compatible hardware versions. Always check the specific service requirements before purchasing a donor module.
Can you clone a BMW DME that does not communicate?
Standard DME cloning generally requires the original module to communicate and its data to be readable. Depending on the DME type and damage, other recovery or programming options may be available. Contact us before ordering if your original DME is completely non-communicating.
Is BMW EWS delete the same as CAS cloning?
No. CAS cloning transfers data between compatible Car Access System modules. EWS delete modifies supported engine computer software to remove immobilizer authorization requirements. They address different situations.
Can you repair my BMW FRM3 instead of replacing it?
Some FRM3 faults can be addressed through data recovery or repair without replacing the module. Physically damaged modules may require cloning into a compatible donor. The correct approach depends on the condition of your original FRM3.
How long does BMW module programming take?
Most supported services are completed within 1–2 business days after we receive the required modules. Shipping transit time is additional.
