Additional Mercedes ECU Types
Other Bosch and Siemens/Continental engine computers may be supported. Contact us with the part number printed on your ECU if your module is not listed.
How Mercedes-Benz ECU Cloning Works
Identify your ECU. Locate the Mercedes-Benz or manufacturer part number on your original engine computer.
Obtain a compatible replacement. Use a donor ECU that meets the requirements specified in the individual service listing.
Ship both modules. Send your original ECU and compatible replacement ECU to Velectronix.
Data transfer. We read the necessary information from your original ECU and program it into the compatible replacement.
Return shipping. Your modules are shipped back after the programming service is completed.
Standard processing is typically 1–2 business days after we receive the modules. More complex recovery work may require additional time.
Mercedes ECU Cloning vs. Virginizing
ECU Cloning
Transfers the original module's vehicle-specific data to a compatible replacement ECU. The goal is to retain the existing vehicle configuration and immobilizer information.
ECU Virginizing / Renewing
Resets supported used ECUs so they can be programmed and adapted to another vehicle using compatible diagnostic equipment. Additional in-vehicle programming is required.
We also offer Mercedes-Benz ECU Virginize / Unlock / Renew Services for supported FBS3 engine computers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to send both Mercedes ECUs?
Yes. For standard cloning services, we require your original ECU and a compatible replacement. Velectronix does not supply donor modules.
Does the replacement ECU need the same part number?
Matching part numbers are generally recommended and may be required. The exact requirements depend on the ECU family and individual service.
Can you clone a Mercedes ECU that does not communicate?
Some non-communicating ECUs may still contain recoverable data. Recovery depends on the ECU type and extent of the damage. Contact us before ordering if your original ECU does not communicate.
Will I need to program the replacement ECU after cloning?
A successfully cloned, compatible ECU is generally intended for installation without additional immobilizer programming. Requirements can vary by ECU and vehicle, and cloning does not correct unrelated vehicle faults.
Can I use a used Mercedes-Benz ECU?
Yes. A compatible used ECU can often serve as the replacement. Confirm the ECU type and part-number requirements before purchasing a donor.
How long does Mercedes ECU cloning take?
Most standard programming services are completed within 1–2 business days after the modules arrive, excluding shipping time.
